In military and patriotic organizations, flags are known as "color" and the
individuals who present them, the "color guard". The individuals in
the color guard that carry the flags are called "color bearers" and the color
guard who do not carry flags are called "escorts". The flag ceremony at
troop activities shall be conducted as described below. The commands are issued
by one of the escorts and the flags are being held by the color guard away from the
flag stand.
